It’s the week before Valentines Day, and if you haven’t yet planned your evening, here are 4 local favorites for a romantic time with that special someone.

Vintage 95 opened 3 years ago in Downtown and offers plenty of wine selection and good food, all in a casual, rustic environment. The layout lacks all the uniformity that is common in restaurants; grab a table, sit in some high back leather chairs, or hang out on a couch by the fire inside or near the fire pits on the back patio.

The main attraction at Vintage 95 is, of course, the wine. They offer an extensive selection, featured prominently in their glass-enclosed wine room. Everyone especially loves the bruschetta, too.

Looking for a candle lit dinner on white linen? Great steak like filet mignon, New York Strip, or Porterhouse? Seafood selections such as Swordfish, Jumbo Shrimp, Lobster Tail or Alaskan King Crab Legs? How about historic decor and murals reminiscent of the 20s? Then have I got the place for you.

DC Steakhouse has been in Downtown Chandler for several years now, and is one of my favorites for celebrating Valentines or an anniversary. The environment is upscale and the food is excellent.

For Valentines Day DC is featuring their Prime Rib special.

Not as intimate or unique as others on the list, this chain restaurant (there are three in the state) still has a great feel and excellent food. This outsider is a local favorite.

The namesake chain of Hawaiian Fusion chef Roy Yamaguchi, Roy’s in Chandler features both signature dishes from Roy himself as well as some that are unique to this location. You will find a variety of exotic pacific seafood delicacies and some nice twists to mainland cuisine. For Valentines Day Roy’s is featuring a special four-course Prix Fixe menu.

When you make the reservation, be sure to tell them the occasion because they always do something special :) Oh, and remember: don’t eat the edimame shells.
