You must be a Hoosier if…

• You’ve never met any celebrities
• Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway
• You measure distance in minutes

… and so the list on the cover of the menu goes.

Hoosiers, of course, are anyone from Indiana. And Indiana is what you are going to get for breakfast and lunch at Hoosier Café in north Chandler.

I asked what their popular dish was and my waitress mentioned a few things and I chose the Chicken Fried Steak with eggs, potatoes and gravy. It was really good. They bring your bill with your food, so you can get in and out in a hurry.

One of the best things about this café is that the owner is there and chit chats with the customers. John and his son bought the café from the previous owner 9 years ago. They renovated the interior but kept the name.

If you are in north Chandler, Hoosier Café is a quick and friendly place to start the day.
