Last Wednesday evening over 400 guests convened in the Ovations Live! Auditorium at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel for an awards dinner to recognize the service and contributions of several community members and businesses in Chandler. The event was put on by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce.
Award recipients included school faculty members, students, businesses, and individuals that served the community in various ways. A special recognition of fallen officer David Payne, who was remembered by the James R. Snedigar Public Service award, was attended on stage by more than a dozen officers.
Music before the dinner was provided by the Hamilton Jazz Combo Ensemble. Entertainment during the show was provided by a group from ImprovMANIA, who did a rapping contest based on names shouted out by the audience and called up Mayor Jay Tribshraeny to do the sound effects while they acted out a movie suggested by the audience.
