In an effort to provide more power to the tech companies in the expanding Price Corridor, SRP has proposed installing a new power line, mostly through the Gila River reservation. A group of local residents are urging SRP to bury the lines to preserve their property values.
Almost 300 people attended a Chandler City Council meeting to protest the new power line. Since the meeting was for public comments and the issue wasn’t placed on the agenda 24 hours in advance, the council wasn’t allowed to take any official action.
