A new way to find pet friendly businesses

After leaving her corporate job, Christine follows her passion

“I loved what I did, but for the last two years, I felt unfulfilled,” Christine answered when I asked how she started. “That can be a scary place to be.”

Chandler resident Christine Roe’s career as a corporate marketer spans 20 years. She has worked for companies such as GE, who relocated her from Chicago to the Valley in 2004. She enjoyed it, but started feeling the urge to do something different. She took some time off and started meeting over Google Hangout with a business coach. Earlier this year, Christine realized that she loves her dog Bailey, and that it is hard to find businesses that cater to him. A new startup idea was born.

After an exhaustive search, Christine found a web developer who was willing to help her with her vision. She also hired a designer to flesh out the brand, but then came the hard part. Searching and searching to compile a spreadsheet of pet-friendly businesses in Phœnix and the East Valley. By the time the new site launched, Christine had 600 listings.

Named after her dog, BaileysDoggyDirectory.com launched in June 2015.

Now Christine is leveraging her experience as a marketer by getting featured in local news channels such as the East Valley Tribune and she and Bailey will be appearing Monday on ABC15 Sonoran Living at 9am.

All pet friendly businesses can be listed on Bailey’s Doggy Directory for free, but business owners can pay extra for a better profile. If you own or know a business that should be listed on Christine’s site, you can contact her through details on the site.
